New birds on the block No. 26, literally

These baby robins are living in the rhododendron bush in front of my parents' house. Aren't they cute?
I'm just worried that the nest is so low, it's like a buffet for a wandering cat....

Those are adorable! Maybe there's a way to guard against cats or other predators with chicken wire or something to that effect? I hope they all survive and don't get eaten... Keep us posted! :)

Tweet tweet. I hope they make it.

I have a new groundhog family in my yard.

Sorry to say, the little peepers did not make it. Not by hand of cat or man but by mother herself. She feed them so well that they got very fat and the additional weight as she landed on the nest to feed them (not much support by the branches) snapped the nest in half causing them to fall out. By the time I got to rescue them, she had abandoned them. That’s nature. All our bird houses are in the “family way” and doing well, safely secured to fenceposts and walls.

I love the pictures and am sad to hear these little birdies didn't make it! I'm stalking some newly hatched robins this week and thought you may want to keep an eye out for a new post on my blog coming soon at lifelooklens.blogspot.com. Love your blog! :)
