Very superstitious

I scheduled a maintenance appointment for the server at work today and everyone was freaking out because it is Friday The Thirteenth. My normally sensible co-workers appear to throw logic out the window when it comes to old wives' tales. I was temped to bring in a ladder, a broken mirror and The Lounging Party just to freak them out some more (because why have one black cat when you can have two?). At least with The Lounging Party there would be entertainment while the entire computer system is down.

{The Lounging Party, doing what they do best}

Very superstitious
Writing's on the wall
Very superstitious
Ladders bout' to fall
Thirteen month old baby
Broke the lookin' glass
Seven years of bad luck
The good things in your past

When you believe in things
That you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way

PS - is Spring here yet?

Sorry for the long absence, I was caught up in the whirlwind of preparation for the Two Ladies' wedding, and then in the aftermath of having neglected the rest of my life. Things are almost back to normal and I will be visiting you all and commenting soon.

OOooh, I miss my fluffy black cat...
My fish just doesn't snuggle the same way.

I hear you! The wedding (and total of 9 days I spent out in California) was a blast! I am glad to be back, but now the pile of launry and chores is even larger than before. I wish there was a magic fairy to make that kind of stuff go away. Sigh.

SixKents - I'd send The Lounging Party your way to cuddle with you but then you might not have that fish anymore after they leave....

Magpie - I have been waiting for that magic laundry fairy for years and let me tell you, she is a slacker...

It is odd that otherwise sensible people get verklempt about superstitions, the people in my office are the same way today, just about the day in general.

'Scuse me while I hug the screen.

Those superstitions only have power if you give it to them. I love opals, and they are not my birthstone, which is also supposed to be bad luck (if you wear them).

And all color cats always bring only good things!

Sweet loungers, they are.

I was married on the 13th, so inevitably had an anniversary on Friday the 13th. Only married for 5 years. It probably had more to do with the crazy husband than the inauspicious number.

LOVE the lounging party! I had black cats for so long... I would laugh when people would say it's bad luck for a black cat to cross your path... HELLO that would be everyday... LOL... I had GREAT luck when I had them!
